Spiritual provision is advised."

Energy. Dance. Creativity. If I were in charge, that's what EDC would represent. And I, speaking for myself, would summarize the wonderfully electric night as a stripped up boogaloo. I've been to the past two EDC's and I'd have to say that this was the first one that I was so present at. It had the power (and audacity) to make me stop and question, "Who the fuck is spinning right now?" Mind you, this in itself was an accomplishment greater that the construction of the Great China Wall. And you could probably see how impressed I was from outer space, which I definitely was during the duration of the madness.

Moby impressed me. Krafty Kutz was sick. They were as I'd like to call, "Bringing it to the masses". But I have to say, a big reason why the night was as beautiful as it was, was truly because of the impromptu scoring of VIP tickets. From what I've heard, it was a little too packed but I cannot disagree more. I had enough space to bust my shit and then some.

EDC definitely hasn't let me down thus far and I look forward to next years all out mash up. A motley crew of freaks, geeks and candy meats - I'd say sign me up for the next one and twice on Sundays. If I had a time machine, I'd do it all over again.

And on that note - Keep the beat in your feet and the treble on the street, 'cause you know you won't be beat with the sickest of the feat.

Good vibes and tunes to the rePublic.

- Nausheen
<< edc was ...

EDC was massive, that's the general idea for it, but In my opinion/experience it was too massive. Within an hour of being there I was separated from my friends and was left alone to find new ones. I met a lot of new people and a few old friends, the music was great! The 150k watt system raped my ears, it was all worth the grueling wait. Moby didnt spin anything slow/ambient which is a good thing, he didnt drop any popular songs either. IE: natural blues, porcelian, forever, etc.. Benny and Paul had the best overall performance. (lightshows and fireworks.) and the way the entire expo park was converted into a weird hell/heaven type of environment made it completely unreal. The entrance to the arena was a giant mouth...picture a hellmouth. Edc was great, I have a feeling next year will be better though.

I would say it was an 8/10. Consider this though, as a raver I'm a little bit biased.

-onoe.

--

Well Mark I would have to say EDC 2008 was the most epic adventure i have been on. The whole night was weird it seemed more like a carnival to me with ppl on stilts walking thru tunnles and walkin around just for our enjoyment. Also there was more games i noticed then last years edc and although i wasnt impressed with the line up this year i still give props. Eddie Halliwell, Bt, R.I.T.M, Z-Trip were my favorite thru out the whole night i never made my way to the DnB room but i guess it was just cuz im over seeing the same ppl (even tho there great). How can i forget the lightgraden it seriously is amazing to look at sober or not. . . i really do want one in my room.

I would say Bt's opening was amazing when he played let it be yeah that made my night.

All in all i was running around with friends going stage to stage trying to figure out where the hell i was and where i was going but in the end we ended up in the spot we wanted to be in . . . a lot of ppl were there and they could have for sure done a better job being more organized with the let in but whatever.

The next big thing thats looking crazy is Nocturnal Festival - Above and Beyond, Cosmic Gate, Digitalism, Kaskade. and also Beyond the Beat looks like a crazy big event too on September 20th (my b-day) they have John B, Limewax, Brisk and Ham, Luna C, Gammer, and kevin energy to name a few and its at the shrine nuts.

--

EDC was pretty epic, facebook friend me (florian Mettetal) and you can browse through my pics. If you want any of them in full res. Let e know.

It's been almost two years since I've been to a rave – I can't believe I ever stopped! It was SO much fun. Do you know when/what the next EDC level event is? Paul Nadeau said he doesn't know why John Walters, of the White
House Office of National Drug Control Policy, would make such
statements in a widely distributed news release without checking facts
with Canadian officials.
"I shook my head when I read the release that they put out," said
Nadeau, adding he's never heard of extreme ecstasy.
"That term is unknown to us, certainly in Canada, and I can tell you
that I've spoken to law enforcement people in the U.S. and they've
never heard of it either so it would appear that it's a term that
somebody came up with in a boardroom in Washington, D.C."
The release has generated huge media buzz in the U.S., with some news
outlets using names such as "turbo-charged ecstasy," which is
supposedly flowing across the border from Canada.
In the release, issued earlier this month, Walters warns public health
and safety leaders that more than 55 per cent of ecstasy samples
seized in the U.S. last year contained meth, a stimulant that affects
the central nervous system.
"This extreme ecstasy is a disturbing development in what has been one
of the most significant international achievements against the illicit
drug trade," Walters said.
"Cutting their product with less expensive methamphetamine boosts
profits for Canadian ecstasy producers, likely increases the addictive
potential of their product and effectively gives a dangerous
'facelift' to a designer drug that had fallen out of fashion with
young American drug users."
Nadeau said there's nothing new about ecstasy - the so-called love
drug that gained popularity during the 1990s rave scene - being laced
with methamphetamine or other stimulants and that it's been happening
for the last decade.
"According to our stats the presence of methamphetamines in ecstasy is
dropping," he said, adding tests by the RCMP indicate that currently,
about 35 per cent of ecstasy pills contain meth, down from 75 per cent
several years ago.
"Why now do they feel the need to announce this to the world?" Nadeau
said of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Walters' office did not return calls from The Canadian Press.
But John Carnavale, an economist who worked for four previous U.S.
drug czars between 1989 and 2000, said Walters is "cherry-picking
data" to blame Canada.
He said that's likely because of Canada's harm-reduction approach to
dealing with drug addiction, compared with the "user accountability"
model American drug czars have preached.
"It was news to me that Canada was allegedly emerging as the source of
supply (for ecstasy). Mexicans have really dominated the market, given
the data up to now," Carnavale said.
Walters' news release could actually create demand for a form of
extreme ecstasy, Carnavale said from Gaithersburg, Maryland.
"If I was a meth dealer in Canada I would certainly rebrand mine to
'extreme ecstasy.' "
Nadeau said that while the RCMP is concerned about drugs being
smuggled into the United States, he disputes information in the
release that is falsely attributed to the force.
"The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) estimates that the current
combined production capacity of Canadian ecstasy laboratories exceeds
two million tablets a week," it says.
"We have no idea where they came up with that," Nadeau said.
"In the final analysis this stuff is driven by demand," he said. "If
the U.S. population has an insatiable appetite for this stuff
somebody's going to be producing it for them so that's the part of the
equation they never seem to talk about."
While Walters said in the release that ecstasy use had recently
"plummeted" in recent years, Nadeau said that contradicts the
statistics.
"If anything, in the last 10 years, synthetic drugs, whether they be
ecstasy or meth, the demand for them has gone through the roof."
Scott Rintoul, spokesman for the RCMP's Drugs and Organized Crime
Awareness Service in Vancouver, said there's no doubt Canada is a
major synthetic drug supplier for the U.S. and other countries, with
65 per cent of the production happening in British Columbia, followed
closely by Ontario.
He said that for years, producers made ecstasy from a powder imported
from Europe, but that it has more recently been replaced with a
cheaper liquid precursor from Asia.

<< Nada's Mardi Gras article

The night of Mardi Gras 4 was perfect. It started with getting from
north of LA to San Bernardino in a record time of one hour and ten
minutes, and ended with getting a green and white piece of candy that
reads "I love ganja" from an adorable little girl at her first rave.
But I am getting ahead of myself.
I got off work that night earlier than expected, hyper and excited for
Mardi Gras 4. I had been waiting all week for this evening to come,
and now it was finally here! It felt like Christmas. I quickly
transformed from mild-mannered, steakhouse hostess to aggressive,
black and cammo junglist. After grabbing a naked juice and a double
shot of espresso, I was ready for anything! I put Portishead into the
CD player, and cruised from the mountainous retreat known as the Santa
Clarita Valley down the 210 towards the industrial jugular of the
Inland Empire. On the way, I got a phone call from Mark, letting me
know that he, his wife, and Rob, would be rolling out from San Diego
to come check out the debauchery. This news amped me up that much
more, the whole RD crew would be united together for the first time
since TAO! I felt absolutely electric and my car practically danced
up the freeway.
When I pulled into the parking lot of the Hudson, I was shocked to see
that it was already overfilled. Cars wandered aimlessly thru the
packed aisles, praying to the lot gods for a spot to materialize. I
followed suit, and happened upon a spot, far in a dark corner of the
property. I wasn't comfortable parking that far, alone, with my
camera and valuables, but I was more concerned with getting inside the
party before DJ Rabbit/Mad Hatter started their set at 11pm. This
gave me about 10 minutes to get going. So I muttered a prayer for
good vibes and karma to the air surrounding my car, then proceeded to
cross the dimly lit, brisk parking lot to the entrance of the venue.
There were so many people in line! I was blown away by the turnout.
I managed my way to the front, where my camera and I were welcomed
inside, thanks to DJ Rabbit's guestlist (thanks again Rabbit, you and
Hatter ROCK!).
I had never been on the "other" side or the "Hudson" side of the
building before, so I decided to make a quick round of the facility
before going on stage to photograph Rabbit and Hatter. I weaved my
way thru the writhing crowd to the main stage on the Hudson half, and
when I saw how large the dance floor and the stage were, and the glory
of the laser/light display setup, I knew this would be an appropriate
place for the likes of DJ Irene and Lenny V. to lay down their sets.
A tingling anticipation swept thru me; I hadn't seen DJ Irene since
the red carpet club in Hollywood now known as the Vangard used to be a
dirty rave venue called Qtopia (hey who remembers that?).
After assessing the scene, which I found to be very visually
appealing, I made my way back over toward the Hudson side, just in
time to catch DJ Rabbit starting his set. I bounced upstairs towards
the stage, which was a balcony set up, overlooking the multi-level
dance floor below. At the top I found someone I had been looking
forward to meeting, DJ Siesta Soul! We had been corresponding online,
but had never met in person, so I was excited to make his
acquaintance. He was a jolly fellow, but the poor bastard had the
unpleasant job of herding bystanders away from the turntables.
People, if you are gonna stand near the DJ, give him at least four
feet of breathing room, okay? The last thing we need is for someone
to bump the tables or the DJ and screw up the mix………
I had never heard Rabbit or Mad Hatter's music before, so I was
curious as to their style and approach. Within a few minutes of
Rabbit touching the stylus to the first record, I could tell I would
enjoy the set. Hard, beautiful, trance music poured out of the
speakers, embracing those below with its warm, loving embrace. The
lasers seemed to feed off the energy produced by the bass; I felt
almost hypnotized by the beat, inhaled, and smiled. I felt at one
with the universe, and all my cares, worries and stresses from that
other world, the one outside of the rave, seemed to melt away. Use of
a microphone amped the crowd up that much more ("What up everyone!!!
Who is having a good time??!"), and the whole room seemed to bounce in
unison. Unfortunately, Mad Hatter wasn't able to join in due to some
complications with the CD decks, but other than that, the set was
flawless.
After Rabbit came one of my favorite trance DJ's of all time, DJ
Samurai!!! Luckily the CD decks were up and running at this point so
he could work his magic. I was so excited to be breathing the same
air as the man while he was in action I could hardly contain myself.
Samurai's set was at the same time slot as DJ Irene's (of course, damn
I wish there were 2 of me so I could watch them both simultaneously!),
so I reluctantly pulled myself away from his set so I could go catch
the last half of hers.
The main room was in full swing. Mardi Gras themed masks, sexy
lingerie, and colorful glow sticks were everywhere! It was indeed a
glorious feast for the senses. The RD crew and I met up along the way
to the front of the stage, where I showed security my press pass and
business card. However, the security guard wouldn't let me onstage.
I argued, begged, pleaded, but he wouldn't budge. I was frustrated.
All I wanted to do was get some good close-ups of Irene! Then I
noticed Siesta Soul onstage, watching Irene work the decks. I sent
him psychic messages to turn his head and notice me, so I could
accomplish my mission. After about 30 minutes, right when I was going
to give up and go dance in the center of the crowd, Siesta Soul turned
his head. I saw a look of recognition cross his face, and he pointed
at me, then waved for me to come onstage. I pointed to the stubborn
security guard, and Siesta walked over. "She's cool", he said. Just
two words, that's all it took, and then I was within 5 feet of the
goddess herself. She remixed some of my favorite records ("They know
what is what, but they don't know what is what…they just strut…what
the fuck?"), and she played some mixes new to me also, including
"Sweet Child of Mine". It was sick!
One of the things I love most about seeing Irene live is that she is
always having such a damn good time. She was laughing, smiling,
throwing her hands in the air, screaming at the crowd, taking pictures
and video……she seemed to be having more fun that anyone on the dance
floor. Quite a statement, considering the craziness that was going on
out there; girls mounted on friends shoulders, lightshows galore,
people dancing on tables and countertops, freakin' awesome, complete,
madness.
As DJ Irene's set neared its end and Reza got ready to take over, AMS
impressed me yet again with a gorgeous balloon drop. Hundreds of
balloons dropped lazily down from the ceiling onto unsuspecting,
pleasantly surprised ravers below, right as the house music built into
a bass ridden frenzy. It was like New Year's, but without the whole
new year thing. I love it when production companies do things like
this. The little details make the event huge, and keep us loyal
subjects wanting more.
I love Reza and always enjoy his music, but he had the same time slot
as another deejay I hadn't seen in many years; Mystre! So I left the
main room and headed back to the balcony to bask in the glory of
Mystre's trance. I still can't believe he was there. Back in the day
it used to be "Mars and Mystre" and then things kinda fell off and so
did some of the deejays from that time. And there he was, a legend
just feet from me. Of course his set was fantastic and didn't
disappoint in the slightest. There was so much talent at Mardi Gras 4
I almost felt dizzy.
At 3am, Mystre's set was coming to a close, and another legendary
deejay was starting his set in the main room, so I migrated once more
from the balcony to the stage. Lenny V. is an especially important
deejay to me personally because my first rave, Cotton Mouth 2000, was
thrown in honor of his birthday. I feel he is partially responsible
for influencing my 9 year addiction to raves. Like Mystre and Irene,
I hadn't seen Lenny's name on a flier in a very long time.
On my way to the house room, I decided to pause for a moment and take
a breath of fresh air, which in my language means going into the
jungle room and getting a dose of some ¾ time beats. It was like
stepping into another world, just the way I like jungle rooms to be;
with green lights, no stobes, and fake plants and shrubbery
enshrouding the stage and speakers. I found the popping circle, but
my legs were starting to punish me for being on them for more than 12
hours, so I just kind of hung out and soaked up the rough and tuff
d'n'b being mixed up by APX-1.
Feeling refreshed, I decided it was time to go see Lenny V. Security
remembered me this time, so getting on stage was much easier than when
I was trying to photograph Irene. The crowd was still going strong,
and Lenny seemed to feel the loving vibe and return it to them ten
fold. After about 20 minutes, someone came up to me and told me there
were too many people on stage. Yeah, but I am a journalist trying to
get some good pics of Lenny. Doesn't matter, off you go. Oh well, I
was getting too tired to fight. I had gotten some decent pics, so I
sauntered off to take pictures of the back of the main room, and then
I went back to the balcony to check out X-Phactor's trance. I had
been running around like a mad-man, taking hundreds of pictures and
trying to hear as many deejays as possible. Needless to say, I was
starting to burn out. I enjoyed X-Phactor's set too, and as it neared
its end, I decided to take the next half hour off and go disappear
back in the Jungle room. At this point it was after 4am, so the crowd
was starting to thin out a little. I found a corner in the back of
the room where I could put down my camera and backpack for a few
moments and just dance to the sound of Mikey B., nothing else. It
felt nice, and I decided that it had been an excellent night. Then I
remembered the long drive ahead of me, and how it was supposed to rain
that morning, so I decided it was time for me to leave.
I went back to the corner where I had stowed my belongings, only to
find that a couple had planted themselves in the same corner. I
excused myself as I squeezed my way past them to grab my things. The
girl looked up at me and said, "It's okay. It's my first rave!
What's your name? Do you want a piece of candy?". Normally I would
reject such a colorful offer, but something about the look in her
eyes; the innocence, the purity, the perfect awe of being exposed to a
world she didn't, until this night, knew even existed, melted my cold
junglist heart. So I graciously accepted her offer, only to realize
that I had nothing to offer in return. Once again, she said that was
okay, and she looked at her bracelet laden wrists thoughtfully. After
a moment, she interlocked her fingers with mine, and she carefully
slid the selected piece off her wrist and onto mine. This may have
been her first rave, but someone taught her the old-skool style of
trading candy beads. For the millionth time that night, I smiled, and
felt that this interaction had somehow completed my adventure, and now
it was appropriate for me to leave. I grabbed my things, and stepped
out of the shelter of the Hudson/Gotham into the rainy streets of
reality.
It wasn't until the next day that I actually looked at the bracelet
that the little girl in the jungle room gave to me. If junglists were
to wear candy, this would be it. I love green and white, and yes, I
love ganja. Whoever you are, you read me like a book, and thank you
very much for the bracelet. I haven't taken it or the smile off since
Saturday……………

Thanks to AMS Entertainment for throwing a sick event! Thanks to DJ
Rabbit for hooking it up with guestlist! And thanks go out to Siesta
Soul for helping me get pics of Irene! I love all you guys and look
forward to my next bass fix………..

SAM'S DUBSTEP EXPERIENCE

The Discovery of DUBSTEP

Mark-"Sam I don't know what happened to Jungle. I walk into a Jungle
room these days and it is nothing but candy kids. "

Sam-"Mark I figured out what happened to Jungle: DUBSTEP"

Presents were unwrapped and all hands were shook. I finished my third
beer and I was off to Mark's. I wasn't going to go unless Mark would
and something made him decide to go and see what this Dubstep that
stole Jungle was. Additionally he offered to pay my way in and the gas
in return for driving. Upon arrival, Christy was going to come too but
then she decided otherwise. Here it was again, a Ravers Digest
adventure. (On this night, the Ravers Digest Brownies). Mark clutched
the Garmin GPS and we were off. My mental map would prove more
dangerous as it conflicted with the Garmin's maternal voice.

The distances and commands for left and right were annoying and
confusing. I prefer names of street signs. I take echo park ignoring
the commands and nearly slam into the back of a Chrysler not expecting
the sudden stop of la exits.

But back on topic. We were going to go see what this Dubstep would be
like. From the onset it was just going to be another drum and bass
party. According to Wiki, it is a Reggae and Drum n Bass combination
that originated in London.

It was like Jungle but missing a beat. A beat of silence that like
Mark said made it very sexy. It is that kiss and take away too it,
right before the lips touch again.

"I didn't expect to see you here. You don't remember me, the after party."
"I remember, you're Karin"

I walked to the front and stood between the speaker colonnades. The
blue lights in the back and spotlights lit up the shaved pale DJ
Plastician (aka Plastic Man) in a soft glow. You could see his tables
and he controlled them with masterful ease. Silver headphones on his
head, spun as he moved from table to table. Confidently sliding
controls, the bass just grew and the music sent people into a frenzy.
Its the way the bass groaned and moaned, accentuated by the high hat
and the melody.

The music was intoxicating, like a passionate relationship with its
powerful highs and lows, its slow moments and fast. It was as if
Plastician was making love right there on the tables. He grabbed the
mike and I couldn't tell a word he said through his cockney-sounding
accent.

Dubstep was fresh with the feeling of something new, something
interesting, provocative and yet still familiar of the days bonding
over jungle beats.

It was the fact that it sounded so different at times and the same, so
rare it is like catching a child as he walks, a music that has just
been born and is struggling into the world and showing its first signs
of maturity, with the vibrancy and vigor of youth and energy. danke
suji. It won't be like this next year, or the year after. I wish I
had seen it in 2000, but I'm glad it was something I saw yesterday.

I looked to the side and he was talking to some girls. I walked over
and they wanted me to take a picture, I half looking said say cheese
and gave the camera back. I didn't want to muddy the experience by
emptiness.

We came into the next party, in the middle of skid row on a rooftop
parking lot. Three tents of House, Techno and Drum n Bass. The feeling
was that of a junior high dance. I wanted to leave but there was no
where to go. I couldn't dance, I could barely move. My head was in a
plastic bag and all I could do was observe. (Brownies??) I would stand
for what seemed like an eternity and move to another spot. I didn't
want to be there with those people. Especially not after the
experience of an hour ago marred by the complete lack of sincerity
lack of soul of this cold place and alienating space.

Sam #8

<<
i really don't know what there is to argue about. talking about this dj this and that dj that. what does it matter who likes what. the point is that we all like a certain type of music - mainstream or not. our diversity is a core part of the group we represent. our tolerance for each other is the major glue that joins us. we may be a group based on principles like PLUR but 'the scene' is many different things to many different people. that's part of what makes us brothers and sisters so close. it doesn't matter what you are here for, what state of mind or body you may be in, who you are, what religion you may be, what politics you embrace - respect and to be respected are a universal blanket that we can all warm ourselves underneath. we come not because we have to, but we gather because we want to. we come because, for at least a day a night a week, we can live in a world where we all feel safe. a world where we can walk up to any of our fellow ravers (and yes, they are all still 'raves' to me) and have an instant connection through MUSIC, kandy, instant friendship, shared experience, whatever. the point is this : that we have created a place for us, maintained by us, that anyone can join and understand. would be a great thing if the rest of the world was the same. we must do as we have always done. we must join together in peace, love, unity, and respect for our community and all of our members. we are what we are no matter what beat you may have blasting from your subs or what vinyl you spin on your technics-
WE ARE A UNIVERSAL FAMILY in a hundred different languages and a hundred different countries all joined by music.

i'll talk just as much as the next guy about what dj is defecting, who is more brilliant, and how 'the scene' isn't what it used to be, we ALL have our stones to throw. but when it comes down to it instead of quibbling about what dj's suck ass and how things aren't what we remember, we should embrace the here and now, as well as the then and there. whether you are in the forest with 1000 of your friends, a warm living room with a few close friends, or by yourself in your car drowning in a sea of music.

it is the community: it is the music, any music, our music, that is important

plur

_LoSt
We had the best sex right
before a party too. PVD was on his game that night, and Eric Glass (?) had
some good acid house going in the other room also. For that night the
English folks really were grinding with good fun. Otherwise stateside
nothing really stands out, though Armin only in L.A. was pretty good
but just didn't hit it with me. (Missed Monster this year though which
was my favorite in 2006).
-
TIESTO IN CONCERT 2007. just pure amazement! took music and effects to
a new level
-
Nocturnal was because i had alot of good things happen and the music was great
-
EDC! best one i got to go to
-
elements of life tiesto august 11 at los angeles sports arena
-
Nocturnal Festival! His previous shows the last few years
have sucked , due to him selling out to the mainstream. True Sasha
fans understand what I'm talking about, You Can't Dance To Sasha!! His
show @ the Vanguard was definately a trip. As I sat back like kitty
kat ready for a little nap Sasha craddled me within his turntables,
guiding me on a heart pumping journey to my peak then with the same
precision returning me to the sea of people cheering him on. Well
done, can't wait for Sasha's full album to release so that I may take
this trip again..
-
hmmmm....so far my fave has been hive at respect a few weeks ago. the
music was fucking sick, there were poppers and breakers galore..and
its respect...jungle, sushi and good drinks, wat more could u ask for?
but i expect new years will prob be my fave party of '07, i'm thinking
of going to the family party...
-
I liked this little rave (prolly no more than 1000 people) that was
fun, nice music, cool people. Monster Massive (ugh) is ridiculous, but
I enjoyed seeing/hearing Felix Da Housecat.
-
Rabbit in the Moon & Infiniti at The House of Blues on 7/7/07... type='text'>mark and christy europe update part duex !!

ok, so we have been trying to take it a bit easy after what was a wild
week in ibiza...
we just got to london a few days ago and are once again shocked at the
price of ... everything.
for example:
cab ride to hotel, about 20 minutes: 45£ = $90 US !!
starbucks: $8 US
domino's 7" mini pizza: $10 US
room service 12 oz chicken noodle soup: $15 US
bottle of water: $2 US
good news though...
bottle of versace blue jeans cologne : $20 US (always $50 in the
states!!) so i did buy a few of those !!!
we are in possession of our "Oyster" pass, which lets us ride around
on all the buses and all the subways as much as we want all week for
only $45 US !!!
ALSO, we found a good persian restaurant where we can get kabob and
rice (very good quality) for about $14 US. that almost is enough to
feed two, so we have been eating a LOT of kabob and rice. not
complaining !! they also have good ash rashteh and ghormasabsi (soup
and lamb with herb sauce)
we still have not gone out in london, but when we do i will have a
serious chat with these blokes about the rules of rugby and why gordon
brown would possible want to have called an election, back in the US i
could never imagine a politician risking office for any reason, much
the less on his own accord.
... here is christy ....
Well, Mark has simply glossed over the fact that we've been pretty
sick. We got sick in Ibiza we think due to the lack of ventilation in
the clubs... they were full of smoke... you could see it from every
angle and there usually wasn't an outdoor area to escape to. We were
able to get medicine very cheap in ibiza (I think it was the only
cheap thing in Ibiza). We've been taking it really easy and we
haven't gone out to a club, bar or pub in about a week now. We plan
on going out next weekend before we return. We've just been roaming
around london doing some window shopping. We tried the fish and chips
which were rather unimpressive. (Mark states that the cod is
flavorless)
It's been pretty fun, we're feeling much better now and the trip
should turn around pretty soon. We found out that the UK recently
outlawed smoking in all public establishments so the clubs out here
should be smoke free!
I know that Jeff isn't on this e-mai list because I don't know his
e-mail address by heart but please wish him a happy birthday for me!
Happy birthday to you too Gary and Nada!
We miss you all and look forward to seeing you in a week and a half!
Love Mark and Christy Evereklian!
<img width='1' height='1' 9 am just got out of
another club that started at midnight and ended at ... i guess around
noon ???
we choose to sleep every day, though.
i guess all the party people who live in europe come here to go all
out and have fun.
prices ar a little crazy, like a red bull and one shot of vodka is
about $30 US or about 20 euro.
you can actually get a good meal for two for about 30 euro or $45 US,
but it is way cheaper and just as good to get a fresh bagutte and try
the different cold cuts and cheeses from the ¨supermarket¨which we
would call a mini convenience store.
it seems like today is the day that the party seasone is over for
good, a lot of the place is shutting down.
we have been looking for a place to do laundry and it does not look
like there is one, so i guess we are going to have to hand wash our
clothes in the bath tub !!
honestly, this island is kind of a joke, they have the most expensive
and incredible clubs in the world, but otherwise there is far less
than you would find in even the smallest town in the states.
will try to write again in a week or so and i think we might spend the
last week in ireland.
love,
mark and christy evereklian<div They may loose a few ticket sales on the underage
set, but they have that accounted for. 18 and up is a good move for a
lot of parties, it is a lot less liability and 18 is already pretty
young. i do feel for the underage ravers who cant get into a party,
but at least it is clear that the party is 18 and up from the get go,
and not a last minute change.
